In the booth w/ the amazing lighting.
I can see I’m not the only one who noticed how amazing the lights are. :D

After spending a little while looking for the new Purikura Shop in Helsinki, Pyro and I finally discovered it on Saturday. For some reason I’d gotten it into my head that the store is outside the Kaisaniemi subway station when in fact it’s inside the station building, only on the second floor, above Namaskaar and the tunnel towards Grand Casino Hotel. This took us a while to figure out but then again, we’re both a “bit” blonde and can’t navigate without the help of quest mods and maps to save our lives. So, whoever’s reading this and is looking for Purikura Shop for the first time: don’t go outside the subway station, just make your way to the second floor, the store is adjacent to Puolenkuun Pelit! ♥
Anyhow. Despite being a tad bit on the pricey side (especially since I prefer the 8€ booth because of the better quality results), I can see the purikura booth becoming a regular thing for Helsinki outings for me & some select friends. Forgive me for the way I look on the bottom two — I spent the night in a hotel & I’d forgotten both my curler and my hairspray at home. Seeing as I’m a bit brand religious, I wasn’t about to go buy just any store-brand product (mainly because somehow I always manage to make my hair look gooey and/or trollish with the cheap stuff) so the only option left was to either braid it or let it hang flat. After about half an hour of braiding and unbraiding, dual braids, single, French braids, ribbons and bobby pins, I decided I’d just let it be flat like a female German Olympic swimmer’s breasts.

Btw, I love my new eyelashes (obviously the ones in every picture present in this blog entry, otherwise I wouldn’t mention them :P). They’re from Seppälä and have little fake diamonds at the base but apparently those don’t really show well in photos. Actually, if the photo shows them they look like dust specks rather than diamonds which isn’t exactly the effect one normally goes for. <_<’

The reason I originally went to Helsinki was Ropecon 2010 and, as usual, everything didn’t go according to plan. Everything was fine until my corset’s boning started poking out of the seams and digging into my breasts, which was extremely painful and not at all fap-worthy. I went to the bathroom to try and adjust the corset only to discover one of the metal bones had somehow managed to get out from the hem and slipped gods-know-where and I only had partial support. While everything else was tucked in nice and secure, there was a section where my tummy (which, let’s face it, is rather big) bulged out which just looked ridiculous so I ended up taking the corset off, which resulted in my back starting to hurt after a few hours without support. So, unsurprisingly, Day 1 ended with me heading home to pop a few painkillers and get some rest. I did get to meet two very nice people from my WoW server, Argent Dawn Europe. ♥ Hai, Dalethas & Arwolf! :D (As if they’ll ever read this, but w/e. :P)

I came back for Day 2 with a reservation to a four-star hotel (Hotel Sello ♥) in tow, so that if I started experiencing the pleasant spikes of pain from my back during the evening, I could just retreat to my room and soak in the bathtub for a few hours… which is actually exactly what I ended up doing after the aforementioned purikura trip, a sushi dinner and after attending a panel at Ropecon about Internet role-playing in ready-made worlds like EVE Online and World of Warcraft. While the panel was interesting, two hours of sitting in a very uncomfortable wooden chair did my back in and I had to go back to my hotel at around 8 pm. After soaking in a searing hot bath for a looooong time, I went off to get some kebab to go and spent the night watching some Harry Potter movie (wasn’t good, btw — but hey, at least it wasn’t Twilight! <_<’) until I fell asleep in the extremely comfy four star bed. *purrs*

Since this entry is becoming quite picture-heavy, I think I’ll finish off here and go to shower + bed… just leaving you with one more picture to celebrate the fact that after a long, long hunt, I found Vanilla Coke! Nectar of the GODS! ♥ More pictures of the past three days here, in case this picspam wasn’t enough! :D
